Dionne Bonner: Executive Director

Dionne was born and raised in Denver, Colorado where her love for tennis began. She started playing tennis at a young age at the local parks and grew to understand the difference tennis can make in a young persons life.

Dionne relocated to Yuma, Arizona where she joined the YTA staff in April of 2005. She is PTR Certified and has been actively involved with introducing the sport of tennis to hundreds of children in the community. Developing instructional programs, organizing leagues and running tournaments are just a few of the tasks she performs at YTA. She is dedicated to help provide a safe and friendly environment for kids to learn to play tennis while finding success and excellence on the court.


Carl Tolomei: Head Tennis Pro/Promoter

Carl Tolomei joined YTA in April 2006. He has been playing tennis for over 30 years. He was on the Arizona Western College tennis team and held the #2 position in his first year and #1 in his second year.

Carl is retired from the Yuma Fire Department where he served 26 years. During that time he was a tennis instructor for the City of Yuma Parks and Recreation Department, the Raquet Club, and he was head pro at the Mesa Del Sol Country Club for 7 years. Carl also played in the Sr. Division of the USTA and was #1 player in AZ 1990 & 1991. He also held the title of #3 player in the Southwest.

Carl is committed to seeing tennis become a year round activity for youth of all ages in Yuma and will be working closely with Yuma City Parks and Recreation and Yuma schools to make this happen.


Carlos Gomez: Instructor

Carlos Gomez was raised in Yuma Arizona and attended Kofa High School. At 18 he began working at YTA as an assistant coach, by 19 he acheived INSTRUCTOR level PTR certification. Currently at 20 years of age he is working at YTA as a tennis instructor.

Since joining the YTA staff, Carlos has helped design and promote Jr tennis programs that involve instruction for over 250 children per month. His involvement with the designing of the first "Tennis Therapy" program has helped dozens of special needs children enjoy the sport of tennis. His dedication to the sport has also led him to grow tennis through programs involving the public and private school system giving hundreds of children a strong tennis foundation to build upon.

Carlos specializes in one-on-one training through private lessons as well as hosting Jr clinics and classes. He also offers racquet stringing services and has recently been chosen by BABOLAT for sponsorship.
